“Officer of Azerbaijani army, Ramil Safarov has never appealed to the Ombudsman Office of Hungary for aid”, Attila Peter, Hungarian Ombudsman stated exclusively to APA.
According to him, he does not deal personally with Ramil Safarov’s case who is imprisoned in the Budapest jail. “Hungarian Ombudsman on human rights is engaged with this issue. In spite of this, members of Ombudsman Office have always participated at Ramil Safarov’s trials, and they are monitoring the situation at present. The Office seriously controls that Ramil Safarov would be shown aid, and it is always interested in his needs. But Ramil Safarov hasn’t appealed for any aid yet”. Attila Peter emphasized he did not have any information about extradition of Ramil Safarov. To note, Ombudsmen of four directions are functioning in Hungary – environment, ethnic minority, human rights and general.
