Protraction of conflicts in the South Caucasus depends more on position of Armenia playing the role of “outpost” in the regionInternational conference is being continued on “Regional conflicts and press” in Tal Aviv, Israel, press service of the State Committee of Azerbaijan for Work with the Diaspora told APA.

Political analysts from US, Germany, Georgia, Ukraine and Russia, journalists and public figures attend the conference. The organizers of the event are State Committee of Azerbaijan for Work with the Diaspora and Azerbaijan-Israel International Association. Expert on South Caucasus, deputy editor-in-chief of IzRus portal Aleksandr Goldensteyn delivered speech on “Cadres do everything: Are there any perspectives in the partnership between Azerbaijan and Israel?”

Then American political analyst, expert on South Caucasus Samson Catsman made speech on “Elucidation of South Caucasus’ conflicts in the US Mass Media”.

He noted that protraction of conflicts in the South Caucasus depends more on position of Armenia playing the role of “outpost” in the region. “You know that Azerbaijan has made substantial changes in its foreign policy after double standards of West on Nagorno karabakh conflict. And so, there occurred serious turning point in the foreign policy of Azerbaijan”, Catsman said. He added that, though, some leaders of this country continue their pressure on Azerbaijan and Turkey under the influence of Armenian lobby abroad, especially in the US.

“It seriously tackles the normalization process and paves the way for new conflicts. It is clearly seen in Georgia for example. Vice speaker of Georgian parliament Paata Davitaya admitted in his report yesterday that Armenians were directly involved in the Javakhetia events”.

The analyst said Moscow Declaration signed during the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Moscow could play an important role in the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. “Once more Armenia’s non-constructive position caused delay of solution. Sometimes press wrongly covers this issue. It would be better for journalists to be more attentive and careful and not to forget about the Russian arm shipment to Armenia and Armenian lobby’s role in U.S. These factors show why the conflict can not find its solution”.

There were other reports on the different subjects.

Azerbaijani delegation led by the Chairman of Azerbaijan State Committee for Diaspora Activity Nazim Ibrahimov attends the event. APA Director General Vusala Mahirgizi is also in the delegation.
