About 40 illegal migrants are held in the temporary detention facility of the Main Passport, Registration and Migration Office of Interior Ministry, press service of Human Rights Commissioner told APA. According to the order of Human Rights Commissioner Elmira Suleymanova, the representatives of the commissioner’s office carried out investigation in Interior Ministry’s Department to Combat Human Trafficking and Main Passport, Registration and Migration Office. No one is held in the temporary detention facility of the Department to Combat Human Trafficking.
The investigations showed that about 40 illegal migrants are held in the temporary detention facility of the Main Passport, Registration and Migration Office of Interior Ministry. These migrants violated the present legislation of Azerbaijan Republic and according to the related articles of the Code of Administrative Offences they will be held in the detention facility till they are expelled from the country. The illegal migrants are from China, Pakistan and Islamic Republic of Iran. The representatives of human rights commissioner’s office concerned themselves with their detention conditions, documents proving legality of their detention, explained their rights to them. They did not complain of the detention conditions or treatment.
