Azerbaijani ambassador to Britain told about the Armenian-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the eventThe Azerbaijani Embassy in Great Britain reported that on 28 September an event was held on the theme “Conflicts in the South Caucasus and energy security of Europe” in the framework of the annual congress of the Labor Party in Brighton. The event was attended by Energy Minister, Lord Hunt, adviser to Prime Minister on energy issues, Malcolm Wicks, the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Liaison Mike Geyps, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to this country Fakhraddin Gurbanov, members of the Labor Party, the representatives of Europe-Azerbaijan Society in London, and the public. The speakers emphasized the importance of increasing the role of Azerbaijan in the energy security of Europe, has been brought to the attention of the effective cooperation between the UK and Azerbaijan. It was also noted that the presence in the region’s protracted conflicts hinders the full use of its energy resources.
Ambassador F. Gurbanov in his speech talked about the energy policy of our country, meaning large-scale regional projects, which created a good basis for further cooperation. Referring to the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the ambassador said that the delay in settlement of the conflict hinders the expansion of cooperation in the region with European states. Finally, discussions were held on issues of interest to participants.
