The book “The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. A brief historical outline” by Johann Raun, German writer and publicist, published in Germany one year ago, has been translated into Arabic on the initiative of the Azerbaijani Embassy to Egypt and published in a large print run.
The presentation of the book was held in Cairo, the AR Embassy informed APA. The book was published based on a private opinion, independent researches and thoughts of the publicist and reflects the foreign scholar’s neutral position regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Embassy assumed as a basis the fact that the work will be met with interest by officials and scholars in 22 Arab countries.
Armenian occupation of 20% of Azerbaijani territory, the genocide committed by Armenian armed forces against the peaceful Azerbaijani population in Khojaly on February 26, 1992, banishment of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis from the occupied territories are objectively and comprehensively reflected in the book.
The book proves that “Dashnaksyutun” Party persecuted and committed terror not only against Azerbaijanis at the beginning of XX century, but it also persecuted and committed terror against other nations living in Azerbaijan, as well as Germans.
The book copies were presented to Egyptian officials, as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations, scientific, educational and cultural institutions, investigation and research centers, libraries, foreign embassies and representations of international and regional organizations in Cairo. By the way, the Embassy received positive comments from the same addresses.
At the same time, the AR Embassy signed a treaty with the country’s famous “Al-Ahram” agency to deliver 1500 copies of the book to book-centers functioning in all districts and the broad masses of readers could get acquainted with the book.
