German FM: CE monitoring instruments’ should have access to Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions

It’s time to provide access of the Council of Europe’s monitoring instruments to Nagorno Karabakh and seven surrounding regions, Michael Roth, State Minister for Europe in the German foreign ministry said at the 127th session of at the 127th session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, APA reports citing to Ukrinform.

 

According to him, the same situation is also about Abkhazia and South Ossetia belonging to Georgia, Transniestria: “The human rights situation in Crimea, annexed by Russia in contravention of international law, as well as in the areas in eastern Ukraine controlled by the separatists, also continues to give cause for great concern. It’s high time the Commissioner for Human Rights and the other Council of Europe monitoring instruments were granted unrestricted access to these regions”

 

He urged Secretary General Jagland to resolutely continue his efforts.
