Chair of OSCE PA accused head of Armenian delegation of poor knowledge in the English language.
At the 19th annual session of the Parliamentary Assembly a polemic took place between head of Armenian delegation Aram Safaryan and Chair of OSCE PA Joao Soaresh, press service of the Parliament told APA. Safaryan carped at Soaresh’s interview to correspondent of BBC office in Azerbaijan: “You said that Armenian President had not enough authority to advance the process. The president and nation are unanimous on several issues, as well as on the issues due to welfare of Armenian people. The presidents of France, US and Russia made a proclamation on Nagorno Karabakh in Canada, Madrid principles was passed. But today we often hear militaristic threats from Azerbaijan. The insufficiency of trust between us is felt”.
But OSCE PA chair did not accepted the comment of Armenian deputy and accused him of poor knowledge in the English language: “Aram, you heard my interview. But you did not understand my opinions because of poor knowledge in English. We had an opportunity to discuss it before the meeting. So, why are speaking about it now? I repeat again: my position has been expressed several times. I repeated it in Yerevan, Baku and Tbilisi. This position corresponds with the activity carried out by Goran Lennmarker. My position is – the position that wants to solve each problem peacefully, tries to observe principles of independence and human rights. I will never betray this principle. I do not think that to kick, to attack on each other is right. I adore Azerbaijan’s works done in the first period. It is really praiseful. Azerbaijan used the best model existing in Norway”.
