Swedish parliament refused to recognize so-called “Armenian genocide”. Report on human rights prepared by Foreign Relations Committee of Swedish parliament and 5 regulations added to the document regarding official acknowledgement of so-called “Armenian genocide” were proposed for discussion in the legislative body on June 11, APA reports quoting “Panarmenian”. 37 people voted for and 245 – against the document, but the regulations were rejected. Representatives of parliamentarian majority and social democrats, who voted against the resolutions, explained their position that experts hadn’t come to a conclusion regarding the events which took part in Ottoman Empire, their reasons and classification. According to them, acknowledgement of so-called “Armenian genocide” will negatively influence development of Turkey.
