The technical work being carried out by OSCE in Lachin corridor will be completed by Chisinau meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents

The technical work being carried out by OSCE in Lachin corridor will be completed by Chisinau summit of CIS on October 8-9, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said at the press conference in Ankara, APA reports.

He said there is a significant improvement in the process of settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The Minister said Chisinau meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents will be a step forward. Asked whether the borders may be opened for a day symbolically before the match of Turkish and Armenian national teams on October 14, Davutoglu said a temporary decision is not planned and added that the reopening of the borders is covered in the initialed protocols. The Minister was also asked whether the tension in Bursaspor – Diyarbakirspor match last Saturday may be repeated in Turkey – Armenia match and whether Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will be invited to the match.
Ahmet Davutoglu said football matches are held in the atmosphere of friendship and brotherhood and noted that they are not concerned over it.
As regards the invitation of Azerbaijani President Turkish Minister said it is a bilateral match.
“We will be pleased if someone wants to watch the match,” he said.

Spokesman for Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elkhan Polukhov said the technical work carried out by OSCE mission in Lachin corridor is a part of the process of negotiations on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The mission is taking measurements in Lachin corridor, will prepare a report on the outcomes of the visit and present to OSCE Minsk Group.
