15 years have passed since the occupation of Azerbaijan’s Zangilan Region by Armenian armed forces.
Strategically important Zangilan region rich in the largest plane-tree forests in Europe, molybdenum, gold, granite and other underground resources was occupied by Armenians on October 29, 1993, APA reports. 34.000 people lived in Zangilan region – 707 sq m, 188 people were killed and 44 got missing as a result of Armenian aggression. Zangilan is the last occupied region of Azerbaijan. Warning beforehand about the occupation prevented much greater massacre in the region.
33.000 Zangilan residents were displaced as a result of Armenian occupation. Ecological terrorism continues in the region which is the victim of Armenian barbarism. Armenians cut off centuries-old plane trees, misappropriate territories rich in natural resources.
