“One of the crucial activities of our diplomats should be informing the world community about Nagorno-Karabakh conflict”, President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev said speaking at the III Congress of leaders of diplomatic representations and consulates, APA reports.
The President stated the diplomats have greater responsibility in the successful implementation of the country’s foreign policy. He called on the officials of Azerbaijani embassies abroad to co-operate closely with state institutions of the countries where they are accredited, to inform the world community about the realities of Azerbaijan and increase efforts directed to the support of political and economic interest of the country. The head of state stressed that diplomats should mainly focus on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in their activity. Besides, President, Ilham Aliyev, pointing out that great progress has been gained in this direction, emphasized that the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is recognized at all the levels, and the international community supports solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The head of state, estimating Azerbaijan’s role in global energy projects taking place in the region, stated that the country’s prestige is increasing not only in the region, but also worldwide. The President charged the diplomats with implementing the further tasks. Spokesman to the Foreign Ministry, commenting on the meeting results, stated there are no serious changes in the country’s foreign policy. He stated that the activity of Foreign Ministry was discussed and estimated at the meeting. According to him, AR President, Ilham Aliyev, foreign minister, Elmar Mammadyarov, deputy foreign ministers, Araz Azimov and Hafiz Pashayev made speeches at the congress. The assembly discussed aggressive policy of Armenians, security issues, as well as other regional and military-political issues.
