European Foundation for the Development of the Regions considers Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, occupied by Armenia, as an independent state. The organization’s website (www.fedre.org), introducing information about Sunik region of Armenia, states “this region borders with Iran and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic”.
It is notable that European Foundation for the Development of the Regions is an organization which provides exchange of information and partnership in economy, environmental protection and social development fields.
The organization was established in 1996 supported by the European Union, European Council and UNO by the Local and Regional Chamber of the European Council Local Authorities Congress. The FEDRE’s website functions in several languages.
