The quota for foreign labor force in Moscow in 2010 will be 250 thousand persons, a third less than in the current year, July 15, APA reports referring to “Interfax”. The head of the Department of Labor and Employment in Moscow, Oleg Neterebsky told that the list to the quota has already been filed in MHSD.
In 2009 the quota for the involvement of migrant workers amounted to 392 thousand people. According to Netrebsky, 250 thousand foreign workers are enough for the city.
Employers, according to officials, filed 1 million 380 thousand applications for the involvement of migrants, but all of these applications were reviewed for reasonableness. Netrebsky said that employers are generally managed by a desire to hire unpretentious workers who will go cheap. Oleg Netrebsky added that the city authorities were opposed to the displacement of jobs from Muscovites.
We should remember, the head of the Department of Transport and Communications of Moscow Vasily Kichedzhi promised that by 1 January 2010 the drivers of Moscow transport will not consist of migrants – these jobs will be provided by Muscovites. The right to employ migrant workers from all metropolitan carriers will only have SUE “Mosgortrans.
