Scientists from Czech Republic have today visited mass burial site in Guba, Azerbaijan, APA reports. They were informed about the genocide committed by Armenians against the local people in Guba in 1918 and the real sign of this tragedy – mass burial site.
Ivan Meznik, who delivers lectures in Czech Republic and a number of European universities, said he was shocked.
“I am shocked. The whole world should be aware of the tragedy of the Azerbaijanis. Books should be written, lectures delivered about it. International mission should give a legal assessment to the slaughters committed by Armenians in Guba. I will do my best for this,” he said.
Chairman of International Diaspora Center Ismayil Agayev, academician Vali Aliyev, professor Vasif Arzumanli and others underlined the necessity of increasing initiatives to inform the world of Guba tragedy.
Azerbaijani and Czech scientists said they will act jointly to achieve international assessment of the genocide committed by Armenians in Guba in 1918. It is planned to prepare new publications and organize international conferences.
