The protocols signed between Turkey and Armenia will be sent to Turkish parliament next week. APA reports quoting Turkish press that Government Spokesman Cemil Chichek informed about it after the meeting held in the Cabinet on October 12.
According to him, the Foreign Ministry provided detailed information about the protocols at the meeting and the documents will be discussed in Turkish parliament on October 21.
Stressing the importance of the protocols, the government spokesman noted that it was a significant point in normalization of Turkey – Armenia relations: “There is nothing secret in the protocols. We demonstrated sincere and serious will. Turkey is big and strong state. We want peace with Armenians along with other neighbors. War benefits no one. However, lasting peace and stability is possible after the withdrawal of Armenia from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. We have fraternal relations with Azerbaijan. No process is as important as Azerbaijan – Turkey friendship”.
Cemil Chichek stated that the process in the direction of normalizing relations with Armenia made contributions to the increase of endeavors on the way of solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict: “After the start of this process, the OSCE Minsk Group became more active. Meetings between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia intensified”.
