“I welcome Turkey-Armenia rapprochement and hope that it will help us solve Nagorno Karabakh conflict,” Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland said at the press conference after Switzerland took over from Slovenia as Chair of the Committee of Ministers, APA’s Europe bureau reports.
Secretary General said if Turkey and Armenia need the support of the Council of Europe, they are ready to help.
“We have not been appealed concerning this issue yet. Both countries are members of the Council of Europe and the only fact is important for both countries and the process I have just mentioned,” he said.
