Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Indonesia Tamerlan Garayev met with chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian Parliament Mahfouz Siddiq. The embassy told APA that the ambassador submitted to the chairman the translation of the resolution adopted at the conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUOIC) in Palembang in January, 2012 for recognition of Khojaly genocide by the member states’ parliaments. The ambassador said that he wants Indonesian parliament to guarantee the implementation of the resolution and serve as an example for the OIC member states by implementing this resolution.
Mahfouz Siddiq underlined that they will support Azerbaijan and discuss Khojaly genocide at the parliament, said the commission members will sign the relevant message. Siddiq said as a part of the process, public discussions on Khojaly genocide will be held at the Indonesian parliament with the participation of Azerbaijani embassy, exhibition and presentations will be organized, video about Khojaly genocide will be screened.
