Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker comments on visit of some MEPs to Nagorno Karabakh

The Azerbaijani Parliament has started the next plenary meeting, APA reports. Opening the meeting, Speaker Ogtay Asadov said that president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, MP Mehriban Aliyeva has addressed for the adoption of the Act of Amnesty on the occasion of Heydar Aliyev’s 90th anniversary. Asadov also commented on the visit of European Parliament’s some members to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan: “The behavior of some MEPs raises questions. In his speech at the “parliament” of the so-called “Nagorno Karabakh Republic”, MEP from the Southern Cyprus said that they are their servants. Despite the issue of territorial integrity, he said that the people’s right to self-determination is above all. French parliamentarian Valérie Boyer has established a friendship group and visited Nagorno Karabakh. She said that their goal was to ensure the independence of the people in Nagorno-Karabakh”.

Asadov said that in this regard, he will address the President of the European Parliament: “I’m writing a letter to Martin Schulz.”
