13 people suffered from 10 accidents related to mines and unexploded ordinances (UXO) in Azerbaijan in 2013, director of “Azerbaijan Campaign to Ban Landmine” Public Union Hafiz Safikhanov told APA.
According to the information basing on the investigations conducted by the Public Union, regional coordinators, and other sources, 4 civilians died in these accidents. 9 people, 4 of them being civilians were injured.
These accidents occurred in Gazakh, Terter, Tovuz regions, Absheron and Baku city.
“Azerbaijan Campaign to Ban Landmine” Public Union has been operating to create a single database of people suffered from mines and UXOs in Azerbaijan and to study and solve their problems since 2003.
