The delegation led by Major General Shahin Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Interior Minister, Commander of Interior Troops, is paying a visit to Turkey.
Interior Troops’ press service told APA that on the first day of the trip the delegation visited Anitkabir, laid a wreath at Ataturk mausoleum.
The same day Shahin Mammadov met with commander-in-chief of Turkish Gendarmerie, Army Generak Servet Yoruk. Welcoming the guests, Servet Yoruk congratulated Mammadov on his new appointment. He noted that Azerbaijani Interior Ministry’s Interior Troops is having high-level cooperation with Turkish Armed Forces and Gendarmerie, underlined that they are ready to support improvement of the Interior Troops.
Major General Shahin Mammadov expressed his gratitude for warm welcome, said he was pleased to visit Turkey.
On February 6, the delegation led by Major General Shahin Mammadov will meet with Commander of Military Academies, Army General Yalchin Ataman, Commander of Gendarmerie Training, Colonel General Ibrahim Yasar, Commander of Gendarmerie Schools, Lieutenant General Ali Lapanta, District Commander of Ankara Gendarmerie, Major-General Musa Citil.
In accordance with the visit program, the delegation will attend demonstrative exercise on various themes at Gendarmerie Practical Training Center and Gendarmerie Public Order Command.
Major-General Shahin Mammadov will also meet with the Azerbaijani officers studying at Istanbul Military Academy. The delegation will also visit museums reflecting glorious history of Gendarmerie and Turkey.
