Some believers supporting Azerbaijanis fighting in Syria against Bashar al-Assad launch campaign against four Azerbaijani journalists

Two employees of APA Holding are among these journalists

Some believers, who are supporting the Azerbaijanis fighting in Syria against Bashar al-Assad forces, have launched a campaign against four Azerbaijani journalists.

APA reports that those persons, who are allegedly members of the radical religious denomination, are posting threatening comments about president of the ANS Group of Companies Vahid Mustafayev, vice-president of ANS Mirshahin Agayev, APA’s correspondent Hafiz Heydarov and chief editor of Kulis.az Gan Turali.

Claiming that ANS has recently given false reports about the Azerbaijanis fighting in Syria, they criticize and insult Mustafey and Agayev on their Facebook accounts. They are posting photos with slogans “ANS, stop spreading Persian shiism”.

They have also posted insulting expressions about Hafiz Heydarov, the correspondent of APA Information Agency, who is releasing information about the Azerbaijanis killed in Syria. They claim that Heydarov, signing in Facebook under various names, is collecting information about the Azerbaijanis killed in Syria. The believers called on everybody to be careful.

Journalist Gan Turali is also insulted on social networks. The radical believers call Gan Turali the enemy of Islam and successor of the writer and publicist Rafig Tagi, who was killed a few years ago and posted his photos: “This person is a successor of Rafig Tagi and an enemy of Islam. He lives in Baku. Let’s recognize our enemies.”
