Azerbaijani Armed Forces complete large-scale military exercises in Nakhchivan

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces completed large-scale military exercises in the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in accordance with the combat training plan for 2014, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported on April 18.
Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov led the exercises.
Some 20,000 servicemen from personnel units and subdivisions of Nakhchivan’s separate army, more than 400 armored vehicles, aircraft, air defense forces, missile and artillery troops, including special forces were involved in the exercises.
The ammunition, infantry fighting vehicles, rocket launchers, artillery, mortar were demonstrated during the exercises. The special forces fulfilled their tasks.
Deputy Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, the president’s assistant on defense affairs, Lieutenant General Vahid Aliyev observed the exercises.
