Interior Ministry: Surveillance cameras installed in Alley of Martyrs in Baku

The Ministry of Interior Affairs of Azerbaijan (MIA) has issued a statement regarding the installation of surveillance cameras in the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.

 

Deputy Chief of the ministry’s press service Ehsan Zahidov told APA that this decision was made in order to prevent unpleasant cases and carry out constant supervision over the area.

 

According to him, a criminal case has been launched regarding the fact of an abusive act committed on graves in the Alley of Martyrs on the night of August 21-22, and the culprit is being searched.

 

Note that, a group of unidentified men had committed an abusive act on the graves of Ilham and Fariza Allahverdiyevs on the above-mentioned date. The Baku City Prosecutor’s Office has initiated a criminal case on fact under article #245 of the Criminal Code. The investigation department of the Baku City Main Police Office is to conduct an investigation into the criminal case. Urgent investigative actions to find and arrest the committer(s) of the criminal act are underway.
