Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commented on Mayor of France’s Burg-Le-Valance city Marlen Murie’s visit to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and signing the “Declaration of Friendship” between occupied Shusha town and Burg-Le-Valance. Acting spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Hikmat Hajiyev stated that Marlen Murie’s visit to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan without consent of the Republic of Azerbaijan is illegal, APA reports.
“This is a violation of the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on “State border”. The mayor’s signing any document with illegal and the so-called regime established by Armenia as a result of the occupation and aggression runs contrary to the French laws and the mediation activity of France, the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group. This illegal action on the eve of the meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents to be held in Paris on the initiative of French President Francois Hollande is a provocation against the French government under the influence Armenia and Armenian Diaspora”, Hajiyev said.
Hajiyev said this visit and illegally signing the “Declaration of Friendship” with occupied Shusha town of Azerbaijan is disregard for the feelings of refugees and IDPs displaced from their native lands as a result of Armenia’s acts of occupation, aggression and ethnic cleansing.
“Marlen Murie should realize her responsibility before the residents of Burg-Le-Valance city as she is playing a role in promoting separatism, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity through her contacts with the so-called Nagorno-Karabakh regime. As usual, Armenia is trying to undermine the settlement process of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through such skinny and provocative actions,” he said.
