Magazine publishes rebuttal to article on so-called “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic”

The 85th edition of the magazine “Monety i kupyury mira” (coins & banknotes of the world), which is issued weekly by the publishing house “Hachette Collections” and sold mainly in CIS countries for collectors, has published a series of articles about the so-called Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

The articles contained untrue biased information about the separatist regime, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia told APA’s Moscow correspondent.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polat Bulbuloglu said in a letter to the editor-in-chief of the magazine that the articles published in the 85th edition are biased and grossly distort historical facts. The letter also asked for rebuttal to the article in accordance with article 43 of Russia’s law on mass media outlets.

In its new edition issued this month, the magazine has published rebuttal, which stressed that the magazine is only for numismatists and that its editorial staff had not intended to demonstrate a political view or a biased position in any way.
