Head of State Commission’s working group: Armenians forced Azerbaijani captives to demolish their compatriots’ graves

“Some Armenian officers have built houses of gravestones and live inside”

The Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan has hosted an event on the subject “The Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict: The world must know the truth”, APA reports.

Head of the Working Group of the Azerbaijani State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, Firudin Sadigov said international law criticizes wars.

“Because lots of people get killed, taken captive or hostage. The situation Azerbaijan has faced is quite different. People have been deported from their native lands where they once lived. Then the war began. Over 4 million people have gone missing to date. The commission deals with their search. Over the past 20 years since the establishment of the state commission, the bodies of some portion of more than 1,400 Azerbaijani citizens have been brought to Azerbaijan, while others were saved from Armenian hostage. And we have now set the goal of finding the last Azerbaijanis,” he said.

Sadigov said there are enough facts confirming the Armenians have forced the Azerbaijanis to do extremely hard work.

“Those captives were used to demolish Azerbaijani graves. This is contrary to international law. The captives can not be forced to do any kind of work. Some Armenian officers have houses built houses of gravestones and live inside. They have such hatred,” he added.
