Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloghlu said it in his interview to “Kommersant” radio, Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Russia toldAPA.
He said it’s not a secret, as the Azerbaijani side has repeatedly stated it.
“Our armed forces are strong enough. We will defend our territorial integrity. We will strongly resist aggression, unless the occupants leave the territory of Azerbaijan,” he said.
With respect to the threats against Azerbaijan regarding response to shooting down the Armenian helicopter, the ambassador said Azerbaijan isn’t afraid of any threat:
“We are not afraid of any threats, let Armenia thinks about its current situation. I don’t believe that the country in such a situation may be a threat for anyone. We will continue the policy of cleansing our territories,” he noted.
Commenting on the statement by the Armenian side that Azerbaijan continuously fired on the positions of Armenia where the incident happened, Bulbuloghlu said Armenia is conducting military exercises in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
“Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement in advance that in fact, another country is holding military exercises in Azerbaijan. What do you think can any country’s military helicopter cross the border of Russia? What will the Russian troops do in such a case? Each country is defending its own borders. It is not just a passenger helicopter, but a military one. Why does a military helicopter fly over those areas?,” the diplomat stated.
