Montenegrin airport’s management apologizes to Azerbaijan

The management of Montenegro’s Tivat Airport apologized with regard to an error when specifying a flight to Baku, Hikmet Hajiyev, the head of the press service of Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, told Trend August 25.

Hajiyev said Azerbaijani citizens addressed the country’s foreign ministry with regard to Yerevan being mistakenly listed as the city of arrival on the information board instead of Baku, before a charter flight from the Tivat Airport.

This caused a justified discontent of Azerbaijani nationals, said Hajiyev.

He added that despite the Azerbaijani citizens immediately appealed to the airport’s representatives showing them the mistake, no correction was made on the information board.

The airport’s director, Damir Pinjatic sent a letter to Azerbaijani diplomatic mission, officially apologizing for the mistake.

In his letter Pinjatic also said the incident wasn’t of a biased nature and was a mechanical error of an airport employee, against whom administrative measures were taken.
