Book about Azerbaijani national heroes presented

A book, narrating about Azerbaijani national heroes, “Top of national heroes” was presented on Saturday.

Speaking at the ceremony at Ataturk Centre, Education Minister Misir Mardanov said that the book “Top of national heroes” has an indispensable role in promoting the ideas of Azerbaijanism. He said that the book is the message for our friends and enemies, that Azerbaijani people are not faint-hearted. More than 200 people fought in the war over Karabakh.

“Once there were such thoughts that Azerbaijanis are not fighting. This book is proof of Azerbaijanis’ heroism,” Mardanov said.

Minister stressed the need to distribute books in schools and universities of our country.

MP, chief consultant of the book Ganira Pashayeva said at the presentation that the extensive information about national heroes is necessary for our future generations for them to know what it means to love the Motherland madly. She said that we are strengthening the faith of the Azerbaijani nation by perpetuating our heroes in history.

“Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev always took care of parents of our national heroes. He often met with them. Now Ilham Aliyev continues this worthy cause,” Pashayeva said.

MP said that when she meets with parents of martyrs, they ask for only one thing to perpetuate the memory of their children.

Addressing the meeting, Chairman of the Public Association “Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Karabakh” Bayram Safarov said that the book “Top of national heroes” again perpetuated the memory of the killed in the Karabakh war. In his view, the book will encourage younger generations to liberate our land from the Armenians.

MP Nizami Jafarov in his speech said that one of the advantages of the book is available in its systematic, detailed and necessary information about those who got the title of national hero fighting for the freedom of Azerbaijan.

“Life of national heroes after death, our relationship to them, their place in society are important,” MP said.
