“The EU recognizes territorial integrity of Georgia and Azerbaijan and won’t agree with any border change in Caucasia”, President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy said to journalists in Tbilisi, AzerTag informs. “The EU will continue its efforts towards peaceful solution of all the existed problems in South Caucasia. We consult with Azerbaijan and Armenia on peaceful solution of Karabakh conflict and we hope that the sides will come to a mutually acceptable agreement”.
The French President also stated that the EU supports territorial integrity of Georgia and condemns recognition of Abkhazia’s and South Ossetia’s independence by the Russian parliament. The EU considers Abkhazia and South Ossetia an inseparable part of Georgia.
