Preparations have been completed for the rally that will be held in Turkey on February 26 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide, Azerbaijani parliamentarian, chairman of Ireli Public Union Jeyhun Osmanli told APA.
“At least 50 000 people are expected to join the rally. Famous art figures, parliamentarians, sportsmen of Turkey are interested in this rally. A number of Azerbaijani art figurers and parliamentarians have left for Turkey to join the rally. Both the authorities and the opposition are interested in the rally. People from 35 cities of Turkey will come to Istanbul to participate in the rally. Khutbas concerning Khojaly genocide were delivered in all mosques of Turkey yesterday,” he said.
Jeyhun Osmanli said the Turkish media report about the rally.
“The eyewitnesses of the genocide are invited to the Turkish TV channels. Columnist of the Hurriyyet newspaper Taha Akyol, columnist of the Haber 7 Erkan Tufan have written interesting articles calling people to join the rally. A number of columnists, who once called for the campaign “We all are Armenians”, are now calling for the campaign “We all are from Khojaly”.
