State Committee: Armenia is training international terrorist groups in Azerbaijan’s occupied territories

Vice-chairman of the State Committee on Work with Refugees and IDPs Geray Farhadov met with Norwegian parliamentarian Karin S. Woldseth, Icelandic parliamentarian Ögmundur Jónasson and famous Finnish political figure, former PACE member Jaakko LAAKSO, who are on a visit to Azerbaijan. The State Committee’s press service told APA that touching upon the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Geray Farhadov said this issue is the priority for our country.

Expressing his confidence that refugees and internally displaced people will return home, Farhadov noted that the support to our country’s right position is gradually being increased thanks to purposeful policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev. He stated that this conflict is a threat not only to the South Caucasus, but also to the whole world: “Because, Armenia is currently using Azerbaijan’s occupied territories for drug trafficking and training international terrorist groups.”

The parliamentarians noted that they will hold several meetings during the visit. The guests said they are aware of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and its consequences and the fact that one out of every 10 people is refugee or IDP and regarded this conflict as a serious threat to the region.

The parliamentarians will visit Aghdam region on January 15 and meet with IDPs. /APA/
