UK Minister for Europe David Lidington met with the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group from France Pierre Andrieu, the UK Embassy in Azerbaijan wrote on its Twitter page, APA reports.
The sides reportedly discussed the settlement process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Recall that, Lidington visited Azerbaijan and Armenia in early November. During his visit to Azerbaijan, the UK minister met with President Ilham Aliyev, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov, Chairman of the Public Union “Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan” Bayram Safarov and other officials.
During the meetings, Lidington expressed the UK’s willingness to assist the acceleration of the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement, noting the importance of resolving the conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
