Turkish President, Abdullah Gul positively estimated results of his visit to Armenia. A.Gul stated to Turkish journalists upon his return from Yerevan that Turkey’s image in the international scene has strengthened after this visit, APA informs.
“Sarkisian has undertaken a step inviting me to the football game. If I didn’t accept the invitation, the entire world would say “he didn’t have courage enough””. Abdullah Gul stated they had discussed Nagorno-Karabakh issue in detail with Sarkisian. “To tell the truth, I didn’t expect that we would discuss Nagorno-Karabakh conflict so comprehensively and in detail. This conflict will be settled sooner or later, but no one can wait for 20 or 30 years for its solution. Present-day situation is favorable for the conflict solution”. Turkish President stated they had not touched upon the so-called “genocide” and border opening issues during the talks. He said they had decided to start an official dialogue. A.Gul added that he would visit Azerbaijan soon.
