Presidents of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev and Armenia, Serzh Sargisian made progress in the mutual understanding on several key elements of the Basic Principles, American co-chair to the OSCE Minsk Group, Matthew Bryza told Trend News on Jan. 28.
Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev and Armenian President, Serzh Sargisian met in Zurich on January 28, AzerTAg state news agency reports.
The day before, Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov and Armenia, Edward Nalbandyan discussed preparation for the Presidents’ meeting and the ways to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“The Presidents’ meeting was positive and constructive. They made progress in mutual understanding on several key elements of the Basic Principles and in decreasing contradictions over some other issues”, said Bryza.
According to him, the Co-chairs’ plan to visit the region next month should retain this positive opportunity.
