Turkey’s efforts in the Middle East as Caucasia are estimable, K.Annan stated to journalists in Davos within the framework of the World Economic Forum. While being the Secretary General to the UNO, I repeatedly emphasized Turkey’s efforts in the solution of the Cyprus problem, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and other issues. I think the possibilities of Turkey as a non-permanent member of the UNO Security Council to overcome such problems and issues have increased”.
