World Bank continues aiding Azerbaijani IDPs
$15 million financing and project agreement was signed between the International Development Association (World Bank) and the Azerbaijani Republic for the “Additional financing for the assistance to IDPs’ economic development” project in the State Committee on Work with Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons on May 15, AzerTag reports.
At the signing ceremony, attended by the representatives of the AR Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministries of Economic Development and Finance, as well as the WB and Social Development Fund of IDPs, deputy Prime Minister and chairman of the State Committee on Work with Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, Ali Hasanov informed about the project. He stated the project cost is $24.19 million and its execution period is 3 years. $8.69 million of this sum falls to the Azerbaijani government’s share. Social problems, existing in the IDP compact settlements, will be settled, and infrastructures will be improved due to the new project by the Social Development Fund of IDPs.
Gregory Yedyevchak, the WB manager in Azerbaijan underlined they are content with cooperation with Azerbaijan and believe in the development of this cooperation. Agreements were signed by deputy Prime Minister, Ali Hasanov from the Azerbaijani side and Gregory Yedyevchak, the WB manager in Azerbaijan.
