The third Nuclear Security Summit, which will also be attended by Azerbaijan, will take place in The Hague on March 24-25.
APA reports quoting the summit’s official website that about 5000 delegates including 58 leaders of several countries will attend the event. The summit will be covered by 3000 journalists.
The summit will focus on the reduction of dangerous nuclear materials in the world, the improvement of security of radioactive sources and enhancement of international cooperation in this sphere.
Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Frans Timmermans, who has visited Azerbaijan this week, said that President Ilham Aliyev had also been invited to the summit.
The first Nuclear Security Summit was held in Washington in 2010 and the second in Seoul in 2012.
