Baku Prosecutor’s Office publicizes causes of explosions in capital yesterday

Baku Prosecutor’s Office has issued a statement on the explosions that happened in the capital on February 13.


Prosecutor’s Office told APA that law-enforcement bodies took urgent measures. “Investigation Department of Baku Prosecutor’s Office has launched criminal case on article 162.2 (infringement of labor safety rules) on the explosion during repair work at a filling station of Lukoil Azerbaijan CSC in Khatai district at 16.30 that resulted in the death of workers Hesret Imamverdiyev and Shamkhal Orujov, injury of Hashim Turabov.

 

According to initial investigation, the reason of the explosion is flaring of air gas mixture caused by evaporation of oil products in enclosed space.”

 

The following has been said about the explosion at the cellar of the unfinished building in Binagadi district at 11.

 

“According to the initial investigations gas leak caused the explosion. Binagadi residents – Fillura Budagova, Afiyev Ibadova, Tamella Safarova, Shujayet Gadimova and Terlan Kazimov were injured, automobile, residential building and commercial facilities were damaged in the explosion. Criminal case has been launched on the fact on article 314.1 (negligence) of the Criminal Code.

 

The injured persons were hospitalized. Necessary investigations are underway to find out the reasons of the accident.”
