Swiss Bombardier will start to switch communication and signaling devices in Baku-Boyuk-Kasik direction along TRACECA to a new system this year, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Gurban Nazirli told journalists.
According to him, the CJSC aims to complete all works in this direction by 2015.
NAzirli told that Azerbaijan Railways also strengthen activity of the stations related to transportation of freight: “The problems related to operation of locomotives in transportation of freight In 2013 have been solved. Nearly 10 locomotives were repaired in Baltic states and Ukraine and put into operation. At the same time, Azerbaijan’s 5 diesel locomotives were repaired and put into operation last year. In addition, nearly 80 passenger carriages were repaired in Ukraine and Russia. Along with this, all trains in the North direction have been renewed”.
“By the end of 2014, we’ll renew all trains in the country”, he added.
