Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the release of the employees of the Turkish Consulate General in the Iraqi city of Mosul and their family members who were seized by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), ministry spokesman Hikmat Hajiyev told APA.
In his statement, Mr Hajiyev has congratulated the employees of the Consulate General, their family members and the fraternal Turkish people and expressed his best wishes.
49 Turkish citizens taken hostage by ISIL were released after 101 days.
