APA reports that the event is being attended by representatives of NATO and ISAF member states, UN and other international organizations.
The high representatives of UN and European Union also joined the summit.
Secretary General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen and UK PM David Cameron welcomed Azerbaijani President and other Heads of states. Thereafter, Heads of states and governments posed for a photo.
The agenda of the summit includes the issues regarding the Ukrainian crisis, future of Afghanistan, struggle against new threats, increase of support to armed forces, strengthening of cooperation and Iraqi and Syrian crisis.
Making speech at the summit, D.Cameron expressed satisfaction with holding of the event in Wales: “NATO is an important alliance for our future”. He thanked the countries for joining ISAF program and contributing to security in Afghanistan. He noted that NATO successfully ends its mission in Afghanistan and takes pride in the results of formation of an army in this country.
The summit will last till September 5. The next stage of the cooperation with Australia, Georgia, Jordan, Finland and Sweden will be discussed at the summit.
