Azerbaijani citizen Mahir Zeynalov’s deportation from Turkey can’t cast a shadow on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey, the head of the Department of Public and Political Issues of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, Ali Hasanov told Trend on Feb. 12.
Hasanov made the remarks commenting on the question about exaggeration of Zeynalov’s deportation and attempts to cast a shadow on the strategic cooperation between the two countries.
“Those, who try to do so, need to understand the reality. On the other hand, a person engaged in labor activities in a foreign country should respect that country’s laws, the public order norms, people’s culture, customs and traditions,” Hasanov stressed.
He said that according to Turkish official instances the deportation was due to expiration of Zeynalov’s residence period.
It should be noted that Zeynalov, Azerbaijani citizen, correspondent of the Turkish ‘Today’s Zaman’ newspaper, was deported from Turkey.
Under the Turkish Interior Ministry’s decision Zeynalov was banned to enter the country.
