Commander of Azerbaijani Internal Troops visits Turkey

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Interior Minister, Commander of Internal Troops, Major-General Shahin Mammadov has paid an official visit to Turkey.

On the first day of the trip, the delegation visited Mausoleum of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and laid a wreath at his tomb.

The same day Major General Mammadov met with commander-in-chief of Turkish Gendarmerie, Army General Servet Yoruk.

Servet Yoruk congratulated Mammadov on his new appointment. He noted that Azerbaijan`s Internal Troops enjoys high-level cooperation with Turkish Armed Forces and Gendarmerie. The Turkish General said they were always ready to assist Azerbaijan in modernizing the Internal Troops.

As part of the trip, the Azerbaijani delegation will meet Commander of Military Academies, Army General Yalcin Ataman, Commander of Gendarmerie Training, Colonel General Ibrahim Yasar, Commander of Gendarmerie Schools, Lieutenant General Ali Lapanta, and District Commander of Ankara Gendarmerie, Major-General Musa Citil.

The delegation will also watch trainings at Gendarmerie Practical Training Center and Gendarmerie Public Order Command.

Major-General Mammadov will also meet the Azerbaijani officers studying at Istanbul Military Academy. The delegation will visit museums reflecting glorious history of Gendarmerie and Turkey.
