U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton urged Armenia and Turkey to keep the promises to normalize the relations, APA reports.
Hillary Clinton met with the foreign ministers of Turkey and Armenia on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. “I want to reiterate our very strong support for the normalization process that is going on between Armenia and Turkey, which we have long said should take place without preconditions and within a reasonable timeframe,” Clinton said.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had said the diplomatic relations between the two countries would be restored on October 10. He noted that the protocol would be signed by the foreign ministers. The protocols may become effective after the parliaments of the two countries ratify the protocols.
