Moscow mayor’s office turns down Armenian request for protest outside Turkish embassy

“The Armenian diaspora’s request was given a negative response”

Moscow. Farid Akbarov – APA. The Moscow mayor’s office has not authorized the Armenian diaspora to hold protest on the so-called Armenian genocide outside the Turkish embassy.

The Moscow mayor’s office did not give a positive response this year to the request of the Union of Russian Armenians to hold their conventional protest on the made-up Armenian genocide in front of the Turkish embassy, APA’s Moscow correspondent reported.

The Sochi city municipality has recently removed from the streets all billboards on the so-called genocide prepared by the Armenian diaspora. The municipality has said it did so because Sochi is a sports city. Sochi city police chief Sergei Ogurtsov warned in a letter to Armenian youth organizations that any type of radical actions will be disallowed in the city.

Note that, in 2011, the Sochi city municipality made a decision on the removal of Armenian general Andranik Ozanyan’s statue from the city.
