Offered to change status and structure of Azerbaijani Defense Ministry ‘s investigation units

MP: “The current activity of investigation units does not meet the requirements”

 

It is planned to abolish the investigation units under Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry and form them in a new structure.

 

The Azerbaijani Parliament told APA that amendments and annexes are offered to the law on military position and military service.

 

According to the draft amendment, the investigation unit is abolished, all corps, military units are organized in a new status, new structure.

 

The aim is to improve the investigation process regarding incidents in the Armed Forces, apply a new system.

 

Member of the Azerbaijani Parliament’s committee on security and defense issues Zahir Oruj told APA that he is one of the authors of the proposal. “The current activity of investigation units does not meet the requirements. Incidents among soldiers, incidents between soldiers and officers are first of all investigated at these units. The current structure of this unit is very unfavourable,” he said.

 

The draft amendment will be discussed at the parliament.
