The meeting between the representatives of Azerbaijani and Armenian civil societies has today kicked off in Strasbourg.
The meeting is organized by the European Policy Office at the European Youth Centre.
APA’s Europe bureau reports that the Azerbaijani delegation includes chairperson of Azerbaijan National Committee of Helsinki Citizens Assembly Arzu Abdullayeva, director of Women’s Institute Sajida Abdulvahabova, chairman of El Movement, head of the National Council’s Executive Office Eldar Namazov, director of Atlas Research Center Elkhan Shahinoglu, former chairperson of Board of Directors of the Open Society Institute – Assistance Fund (Soros Fund) in Azerbaijan Irada Bagirova, teacher of Baku State University, assistant professor Niyal Barkhalova, project director of Peace Programme Sabina Huseynova, Peace Programme coordinator Sona Mastanova and culturologist Togrul Juvarli.
The meeting is focusing on education for peace in the multicultural world in the twenty-first century, achievement of peace and reconciliation on the Cyprus model, further preparation of joint projects in the region, a model of cooperation of Cyprus Island, between the Turkish and the Greek media outlets and assistance to the settlement of conflicts through cooperation (in the spheres of education, science and etc) beyond conflicts.
