A Russian family from Russia introduced themselves as Armenians from Azerbaijan intended to receive refugee status in Germany, APA reports quoting INFOX news portal. The family of three asked the government of Germany in November 2001 for asylum as if they were Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan. The Federal Office for Reception of Foreign Refugees rejected their application in March 2002. They appealed the Constitutional Court in 2007, but the court identified that they gave false report about their nationals and fined them 1500 euro. The family appealed the migration service in May 2009 submitting their expired passports and expressing intentions to return home.
