Slovenian National Assembly to hold hearings on Nagorno Karabakh conflict this week

The National Assembly of Slovenia will hold hearings on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict on May 17. APA reports that the Azerbaijani delegation led by Elkhan Suleymanov, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, will leave for Slovenia to attend the hearings. The delegation includes Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev, MPs Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Fazil Mustafa and Jeyhun Osmanli.

The hearings will focus on the armed aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, mass and flagrant violation of human rights of about a million Azerbaijanis as a result of the ethnic cleansing conducted by the aggressor state in the occupied territories and the amount of material and moral damage as a result of the occupation of the Azerbaijani territories.

The members of the Azerbaijani delegation will meet with President of the National Assembly Janko Veber, Slovenian Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek, members of the National Assembly’s Committee on Foreign Policy and Committee on European Union Affairs, as well as Slovenia-Azerbaijan friendship group. Azerbaijan’s Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev will meet with Slovenian Minister of Economic Development and Technology Stanko Stepišnik.

The members of the delegation will also be received by Šempas city mayor and visit the grave of Azerbaijani hero Mehdi Huseynzadeh in Čepovan.
